Choosing Projector Screens

The projector screen is inarguably the most important accessory of a projector. Though you can basically project an image on any surface, projector screens provide a good background for image viewing. They are specially important for presentations and home entertainment. When choosing a screen, it is best to consider the following factors:

Colour
Most projection screens come in white colour, but there are also screen that are light to medium in hue. While white screens are ideal to use for both presentation and movie viewing, grey screens are also great to use because they are designed with the capability to boost image contrast.

However, if you are using a high contrast projector in a dark theatre room with dark walls, ceilings, carpets and furniture, a white screen may suit you best as the grey high contrast screen may make the image appear more intensely contrasted and, as a result, visually unattractive.

Size
The size of the screen can also have an impact on your viewing experience. If you will be using the projector in a regular size room, a standard size 16:9 screen would be enough. But if you are intending to use the projector in a large room for large presentations, you can opt for a wider screen. You can choose a super wide screen for a theatre like viewing experience.
