Movie Projectors
What is a movie projector?
A movie projector is a type of projector that is used to display moving pictures on a large projection screen. This projector works by continuously scanning the frames of movie film-strips fast, for just a fraction of a second, in order to create the illusion of motion. It reads the image and audio from the film, then projects the image onto to the screen and delivers the audio through the speakers simultaneously. A movie projector is widely used in theatres. It is generally consists of the following four major sections:

Movie projector
Spool assembly – this consists of sprockets, a claw, cambers, a motor and platter. It was designed for the purpose of continuously moving the film throughout the projector to create a moving picture.
Lamp Assembly – this part consists of a mirror, bulb, fan and condenser. Its main purpose is to illuminate the image on the film and send it to the lens assembly.
Lens Assembly – is composed of lens, shutter and aperture gate. When the illuminated image is passed on to the lens assembly, it will then be put in focus by the main lens and projected onto the screen. There are two types of lenses used; one is the flat lens, which is suitable for dramas and comedies. The other is the CinemaScope, which is specifically designed for fast action movies.
Audio Assembly – consists of optical and digital devices designed to read audio. This is the part that produces the sound of the film.
