Overhead Projectors
An overhead projector is a type of slide projector designed to display images to an audience. This projector technology is a valuable visual aid for education and other training activities. During the 1980s and 1990s, it was popularly used in a number of schools, particularly in the U.S. where every class room each had one installed. However, in modern times, the use of overhead projectors in classrooms has recently declined, owing to the introduction of more advanced projection technology.

An overhead projector consists of a large box, containing a fan-cooled bulb, covered with a crystal platform on top where transparencies are positioned. On the side of the box is a vertical arm that holds a mirror that catches and redirects the light coming towards the projection screen. By adjusting the position of the mirror, the size of the projected image can be adjusted from small to large. The overhead projector is best to use when the projector is about two to four metres away from the screen. This way, a clear and good quality image is produced.
